Miss Ivy Elite 2019-2020

Carlisha Shy is the daughter of Linda Sutton of New Orleans, LA. Carlisha attends Cristo Rey Baton Rouge High School, where she is ranked 3rd out of 48 in her senior class with a 3.4 GPA. Carlisha is an active member of the cheerleading team, speech club, student ambassadors, and serves as the National Beta Club President. Upon Graduation, she plans to attend Grambling State University to matriculate in Biology with a minor in neuroscience. Her aspirations in life is to be an orthopedic surgeon and a role model in her community. 

Carlisha instills in the scripture Proverbs 31:25 “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”

Ashleigh Mosley

2019-2020 Miss Omega Psi Phi

Greetings to everyone! Ashleigh-Maggail Mosley is the proud daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Arthur R. James alums of the Grambling State University. Ashleigh is a rising senior studying business management in the College of Business. 

While attending Bossier Parish Community College, she became a member of the Sigma Kappa Delta National English Honors Society, Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society, and was the first Co-President in the Bossier Parish Community College chapter of the Rotaract Club. While she was there she served as a Maroon Jacket, worked with the Public Relations team, and made the Chancellor’s list. Grambling State, she is a member of the GSU Management Club, a former member of the GSU Newspaper, the Tiger Girls Dance Team, made the President’s List for the 2017 

fall semester, and the Honor Roll for the 2018 spring semester. After graduating with her bachelors degree, 

she wants to continue her education to receive her Masters in Construction Management. 

With her degree she plans to be an advocate for African-American women to open/work in the construction industry. 

Ashleigh’s favorite scripture is Luke 6:31 “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

Ilani Thomas

2019-2020 Miss Purple  

Ilani Thomas is the blessing presented to Sandra Thomas and Whitfield Long. Majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Military Science, 

this Las Vegas native has maintained honor roll throughout her matriculation at Grambling State University. Ilani is also a contracted cadet on scholarship in the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Program. Ilani is aspiring to become an Army Military Police Officer in the United States Army Reserve. She is the Co-Chair of Grambling State University's Favrot Student Union Board. In her leisure time, Ilani enjoys listening to music, dancing, tasting new foods, brainstorming new ideas, or working out. Ilani's philosophy on life is “Life isn’t about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself.”
